2023 Preseason has begun....
Coming home and resetting myself after a long season abroad was priority #1. Being in the house with the family, finding my new routines and just enjoying what I had missed so much in 2022. Step #2 was getting together with my Coach Mr. Torres and getting dialed in for what I feel is going to be a strong and positive off/pre season in preparation for my 2023 campaign.
We met up in Miami at the Infiniti Sports Institute to get some data on how my body was performing and to test in order to see what areas we needed to focus on so I can be stronger, faster and more agile. Coach Torres also walked me through some movements that I need to work one in order to keep progressing in the physical aspect of my needs. We talked a lot also in order to see where I stood mentally, what I had learned over the past season and what my outlook was for the next. For sure, I know this is still the tip of the iceberg, but this is the path I want and I will keep working towards that dream
One of the first run riding events I attended when I got home was the SFLMINGP races at the Herrin Compound in Georgia. I got to see so many of my friends and it was super humbling getting all kinds of awesome feedback from my racing in the UK. It was also super cool to sign one of my hoodies for Zoe (probably my highlight...lol). I participated in the Parent/Child 2HR endurance race with my mom as my teammate and the entire time I was just worried about her taking someone out. But thankfully everyone made it safe while she was on the track. Sorry mom but great riding!
Then I got to spend a training week with Avery who came over to stay at the house. We went to the Vasco Moto Ranch, did a 30mile cycle, went to Bushnell for a track day and worked out during the week leading up to Halloween. Avery and I push each other; its great having someone to work out with. Among training we did a bunch of school work and riding in the back yard too. Just tons of fun...looking forward to more of these in the coming weeks.
The final event to end October and enter into Nov was with SFLMINIGP again. My dad's friend Brian has a 450 sitting around, so he let us borrow it to train and race on. I was super excited to ride the bike and get some work in during this round. The Motard class was stacked with riders like Brandon Paasch and Aston Yates on the track. I was able to hold my own and had a blast working on things through the weekend. I was surprised by Eddie and The Bike Shop SRQ with a beautiful Specialized road bike for training as well (I will do a dedicated blog on this next week) and that was so awesome. Can't wait to put a ton of miles on it.
This weekend I am heading to Roebling Rd with WERA for some seat time on the freshly rebuilt DBPrepared NSF (and representing a new team in Zenith Performance ; more on that in another blog). I also have some new swag coming and the fundraiser page is up...so if you need to write off some funds before the end of the year, spend some here!
