Quick Trip Home...Full Reset
So I get a call from my dad that I needed to come home before my travel visa expired and we did not want to have to deal with the unknown consequences. Adding onto my experiences of 2022, I got to fly home on my own for the first time. Well, I had no adult with me, but my dad was on facetime with me the entire time. I was petrified of being kidnapped...lol. Thankfully, airports have tons of signage, security and information everywhere. I managed to make my way home and the surprises started to pile on from there.
First stop was home. My little brother had no idea I was coming. Technically, only my mom, grandma and dad knew. So I walk in and get greeted by the dogs. As I walk through the house, I spot my little brother and he spots me. His face was priceless. Honestly, the best part of my trip was making him get all in his feels. We hugged and hugged for a long time. My mom had my favorite empanadas warmed up for me (thanks Lela for those). Felt really good to be home. On Saturday we got up early (well I was up already due to the time change...the UK is 5hrs ahead) and headed to watch Grayson do BMX training. That was cool watching excel at a new sport. From there we went to the wake boarding facility for some fun in the water. I had only done this once before and really liked it. I am glad my parents found a spot close to the house for us to use more. Spent most of the afternoon out in the park and having fun in the sun. From there we headed to surprise my uncle, aunt and baby RJ. My aunt Cat almost fainted...lol. We ate with them and watched a movie. Literally just hung out for the rest of the day. I missed them all so much.
For the rest of the time home, I spent most of it hanging out with Grayson and we did a couple of trips to Bushnell Motorsports Park for us to ride and train. It was fun working with Gray and watching him progress so quickly. I had an absolute blast riding and was noticeably faster as well on my bikes. Must be learning something abroad...lol. I had food from all my favorite places and hit all the right places to make this short trip what I needed before the final two rounds of the British Talent Cup. My grandma came from NJ to see me as well before I left again and that was an awesome surprise for me. She is a massive supporter in my program and a lot couldn't be done without her.
I miss my family a ton but I know all these sacrifices and challenges are here to help me get better, stronger, more mature and prepared to keep advancing towards my goals and dreams.
TIME TO GET IT DONE AT SNETTERTON....
